Galax Veterinary Clinic encompasses both Animal Medical Services of Mount Airy, NC, and Galax Veterinary Clinic of Galax, VA. Since our first practice opened in 1966, we have provided high-quality medical care for small and large animals. With two clinics and six veterinarians to serve you, we can provide a wealth of expertise and technology combined with personal, compassionate care.

We are the largest veterinary medical practice serving Carroll County, Grayson County, and Surry County with the ability to provide high-quality medical care for both small and large animals. Having all your four-legged friends cared for in one place will simplify your life and save you time.
With six veterinarians and capable support staff to serve you, we can provide a wealth of expertise and technology. Meanwhile, our individual clinics make sure you are always treated like family and provide your pet with personalized, compassionate healing. We have been rated the “Best Veterinarian” by both the Galax Gazette and Surry County’s Good News.
We are available for farm, and house calls within a 25-mile radius of the Hillsville / Galax, Virginia region and Mount Airy, NC. We provide herd-health and preventative care services for our large animal patients.
Our multi-doctor practice also allows us to offer 24-hour emergency service. If you have an after-hours emergency, please call (276) 236-1315 to reach the emergency veterinarian. After-hours fees may apply.
